Mentor Teacher Openings at TAP/BPC Schools

Rapides Parish is looking for experienced, highly effective teachers to serve as Mentor Teachers in 1st – 8th grade in our Community School Zones. Applicants must have strong knowledge of curriculum, lesson plan designing, and assessments.

Qualifications: 

·      Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate

·      Highly Effective or Effective Proficient Evaluation Rating

·      Minimum of 5 years overall teaching experience

Preferred Qualifications:

·      3 years teaching experience in the grade/content for which you are applying.

·      Professional Development presentation experience. 

Monetary Compensation:

·      Teacher Advancement Program (TAP) Schools

o   Mentor Stipend =  $1,500

o   Potential Payout = $2,500 per teacher

o   Total Potential Additional Compensation = $4,000+

·      Best Practice Centers (BPC) Schools:

o   Mentor Stipend =  $1,000

o   Potential Payout = $1,000 per teacher

o   Total Potential Additional Compensation = $2,000+

Job Responsibilities Include:

·      Grade-Level Instructional Leader

o   Team-Teach with Colleagues

o   Demonstrate Model Lessons

o   Assist with Grade-Level Lesson Planning, Assessments, & Data Disaggregation

o   Oversee Grade-Level Instructional Para

·      Leadership Team Member

·      Participate in Cluster Group Planning and Implementation

·      Support Teachers’ Individual Professional Growth Plans

·      Observe and Provide Peer-Assistance and Coaching

·      Evaluate Teacher Performance Using the TAP Rubric

·      Liaison between Teacher and Master Teacher

·      Attends all Professional Development Training

·      Work 5 Additional Contract Days
